AudioReel vs Auphonic
Updated November 2026
What Auphonic does best. Auphonic is a reliable, long-standing tool for podcasters and broadcasters: leveling, noise reduction, loudness normalization to common targets, multitrack processing with automatic ducking, and batch and API workflows (batch is not in the free plan). It also handles video files and audiograms. Pricing is by processed hours, with a free monthly allowance. For audio-first shows it's very hard to beat on value.
What it doesn't do. Auphonic doesn't look at the picture. It won't cut a music track to your video edit, won't place a swoosh on a transition or an ambience on an outdoor shot, and while it processes the audio of a video, it doesn't use the picture to decide anything.
What AudioReel does. It analyses the video itself (cuts, zooms, titles, photos, logos) and builds the sound around it: voice cleaned, music edited to the edit, sound design on visible events, mix for social or YouTube.
